Referral
The referral process can take many forms, but it always starts with a conversation – either in person or over the phone. This helps us understand the individual and their situation so we can either begin their referral process or signpost them to another organisation that is better placed to help them.
General criteria
Walk has a holistic approach to supporting released prisoners, starting before they leave custody. We work with men aged between 25 and 55 years of age, we aim to build an accurate assessment of their needs so that we can provide a safe and stable base from which they can begin to grow.

Detox Home
We work with partner organisations to manage detoxes. We provide a daily program of activities and 24/7 support in a safe closed environment, to support residents during the detox, with lived experience support workers providing help and support. it is estimated that residents will spend 16 weeks at this stage of their journey.
Recovery Home
Residents will be substance-free at this stage
Walk provides a daily program of activities in a safe closed environment, to support residents during the rehab stage, including, volunteering, gym, cooking lessons, life skills training, and bible studies. It is estimated that residents will spend anything from two weeks to six months at this stage of their journey depending on their needs.
