Today marks a truly special occasion—Stoke-on-Trent is celebrating 100 years since being officially granted city status. A century on, we’re proud to stand as part of a place with such a rich, distinctive heritage and a strong sense of identity.
Known as the World Capital of Ceramics, Stoke-on-Trent has been shaped by generations of craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation. From the iconic potteries of Wedgwood, Spode, and Royal Doulton to the skilled hands that built a global reputation for ceramic excellence, Stoke’s legacy lives on in every kiln, bottle oven, and museum. But it’s not just about pottery—this is a city of resilience, of industry, and of transformation. It’s a place where communities have come together through change and challenge, and where pride in our roots still runs deep.
All of us at Walk feel incredibly privileged to be part of this community. We’re proud to call Stoke-on-Trent our home, and today, we join in celebrating everything that makes this city remarkable—from its past achievements to its bright future.
Here’s to 100 years of city status—and to many more to come.
