Christmas 2024

We know that the festive season can be a difficult time for some of our residents, which is why we fill the season with plenty of fun activities.

We kicked off Christmas with Walk’s very first Talent Show, featuring a special opening act where the staff performed a Nativity.

In total we had 17 acts with varying talents from dance, comedy sketches, poetry, singing, spoken word, musical performances, and paper boat making. We laughed, cried, laughed some more, but most of all we were blown away by the incredible talent on show.

It was so good that we could not choose only one winner. Our joint winners were Shane who wrote a poem about his journey through Walk, and Gareth who remixed songs with references to his cleaning team. (Yes, he did remix ‘Lady in Red’ to ‘We’re Cleaning Instead’.)

After a great morning, we headed to Tandoori Knights where all of the residents, staff, and friends of Walk gathered for a tasty all you can eat buffet.

For our final Bible Study of the year we held a special Carols and Christingle service where we sang traditional carols, retold the story of Jesus’ birth through scripture, and lit Christingle oranges to remind ourselves that Jesus is the light of the world.

Our incredible operations team worked hard to deliver presents, turkeys, and undertook the Christmas food shop for over 40 residents (not a small task) they also ensured that throughout Christmas and New Year, our residents enjoyed a host of activities such as bowling, climbing, karaoke, cinema trips, taskmaster, and games nights.
