Volunteering is at the heart of who we are.
Walk was built by volunteers, and volunteering has remained important throughout the years.
One of our core values is servanthood. This means offering help, getting stuck in, and not seeing any job as beneath you.
Your voluntary journey at Walk starts on the cleaning team which services projects across our city of Stoke-on-Trent. Residents also volunteer every week at Rudyard Lake, helping the team to maintain the landscape, build fences, and litter pick around the local area.
Volunteering helps our residents to gain essential skills such as timekeeping, teamwork, problem solving, perseverance, and communication.
As residents move through their journey, our existing partnerships enable us to send residents into trusted places to gain more skills and experience that will benefit them as they begin to look for work.
In the past five years our residents have completed over 192,000 voluntary hours.
